Electric Third Period Not Enough for Men's Hockey

ERIE, Pa. - Men's Hockey hosted Canisius tonight, Feb. 10, 2023, in the MIC.

The lakers had momentum going in the third, but ultimately fell in the last seconds, 3-4.

How it Happened

First Period

Although the Lakers held their ground and battled, the Golden Griffins were able to put two on the board at 15:55 and 17:00.

Second Period

Canisius earned another point with 6:08 elapsed in the second. 

The team did pick up a penalty kill in the period.

Third Period

Almost instantly in the third, at :55, Eric Esposito scored the Lakers' first goal of the night. Steven Agrogianis and Kyler Head passed the puck to earn the assists.

Boom, Dustin Geregach earned goal number two for the Lakers at 8:15. Esposito and Kyler Head took the apples. 

Just like the second goal, it belonged to Geregach, this time at 11:32. Esposito earned his third point of the night to bring the game all squared up at three.

The Golden Griffins took back the lead after a contested goal at :07.
