Lakers Earn Road Win Over Scots

Edinboro, Pa. - Mercyhurst Men's Basketball adds one more win to their win total Wednesday in the 81-67 win over Edinboro. The Lakers got off to a fast start and never looked back from there, moving to 16-3 on the season and 12-3 in PSAC play.

How it Happened

First Half

Mercyhurst scored the opening six points of the game thanks to their long-range shooting. Both of their made threes to begin the game came courtesy of Nicholas Lang,

The graduate guard from New Market, Md. got off to a fast start, scoring 16 points in the opening half on 5-8 shooting from the field and 4-5 from deep.

The Lakers controlled the game from there as they went on a 21-6 run to open the game over the first 10 minutes of action. The offense proved to be in a real rhythm to start the contest with a dunk from Pipeloluwa Ajayi giving coach Manchel's crew their largest lead of the opening frame at 15.

After that, Edinboro found a groove on offense, but could not find a way to slow down their counterpart as they went into the halftime break down 43-29.

Second Half

The Fighting Scots came out of the break and managed to cut the deficit to single digits, but Mercyhurst found a way to get back in front by 11 thanks to a two-point make by Aidan Reichert

The Lakers were able to keep their opponent at arm's length the rest of the way as their lead remained in the double-digits for most of the game in the 81-67 victory.

Highlights

Nicholas Lang led the way with 22 points on 6-13 shooting and eight rebounds. He was followed by MiyKah McIntosh with 19 on 4-7 shooting from deep.
