Box Score

Erie, PA- The Mercyhurst Women's Soccer team earned another victory this afternoon with a win over California University of PA. The victory extends the Laker win streak and brings their season record to 9-1.

How it Happened

It didn't take Mercyhurst long to build a lead. Under two minutes into the match, off a feed from Vanessa Evans, Madison Hoover found the back of the net to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead. Later in the half Anamari Bosnjak centered a beautiful ball that found the head of Camille Bultel to extend the Mercyhurst lead to two.

Later in the first, Corinne Morgan showed off her speed yet again to find Rebecka Habursky for an easy tap in goal to give the home team a 3-0 lead. In the first half, the Lakers put constant pressure on Cal, unleashing 11 shots.

As the Lakers took the field for the second half, it was more of the same. Defensive standout Taryn Baxter joined in on the offensive fun converting a header off a corner kick from Madison Hoover.

Not long after, Karah Van Horn added to her season stat line by finding the back of the net once again. It was set up beautifully by Madison Hoover, who stuffed the stat sheet the whole day.

The Cal offense didn't even sniff the net today, as the Laker defense lived up to their reputation once again. The score remained until the final whistle.
