Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's basketball program hosted its first annual Alumni Mentoring Night on last Friday evening in the Waterford Room at Ryan Hall. The event was designed to help current student-athletes plan for life after college while also affording alumni an opportunity to meaningfully reconnect with the men's basketball program and the Mercyhurst campus.
The Lakers were happy to welcome former members of the men's basketball team – Steve Albert '75, Kevin Bradley '78, Moe Profit '98 and Bill Weaver '12 – back to campus to speak with current student-athletes about particular fields of career interest, personal and professional insights, and thoughts on networking and related best practices.
Head coach Gary Manchel was particularly proud of the event, saying "We are so grateful to have had Steve, Kevin, Moe, and Bill back on campus to meet with our student-athletes. We were pleased to host our first annual mentoring night with such an impressive group of committed and engaged alumni, and it was an incredibly impactful night for our players. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come."
