Greensburg, PA- The 20th ranked Lakers traveled to Greensburg, PA this afternoon to take on the Griffins of Seton Hill. Riding a ten-game win streak, Mercyhurst picked up a strong road win, outscoring Seton Hill 3-0. The win improves the Lakers record to 11-1 on the year as they now prepare for a home game on Saturday.

How it Happened:

The Lakers created separation sixteen minutes into the match as Anamari Bosnjak struck a beautiful ball off a corner kick. Chloe Kalina timed the pass perfectly and out jumped an opposing defender to convert a header for a 1-0 lead.

The Lakers defense locked down the opposition in the first half and they took the 1-0 lead into the break.

The flood gates opened in the second half, as Mercyhurst extended their lead just two minutes in. Taking advantage of a two on one break, Karah Van Horn advanced a ball for Vanessa Evans who snuck one by the Griffins keeper.

The two-goal lead was quickly pushed to three when Anamari Bosnjak crossed another beauty, which found another head. This time, Teagan Mehalko converted the cross. Four minutes later, the Lakers added some more insurance. Madison Hoover continued her strong play, tapping in a cross from Vanessa Evans.

The Laker defensive unit played as advertised once again, shutting out the Griffins for the second time this year.

Highlights:

Anamari Bosnjak put together a powerful performance recording two assists. She now has five assists this year. Chloe Kalina, Vanessa Evans, and Teagan Mehalko recorded their second goals of the season, while Madison Hoover tallied her fourth.
