Erie, Pa – Mercyhurst Women's Basketball continues their season with two home games this week. They are set to take on Shepherd on Wednesday, January 11th, and play against Slippery Rock on Saturday, January 14th.

1. PSAC Standings
PSAC StandingsThe Lakers are coming out of a successful weekend where they surprised previously undefeated IUP after a great game won by a score of 79-71. Despite the loss, IUP is still first in the PSAC West Standings with a conference record of 6-1. The Hawks are followed by Gannon, California (Pa.), Edinboro, and Pitt-Johnstown with all those teams boasting 5-2 conference marks. Mercyhurst is right behind them and is followed by Seton Hill, Slippery Rock, and Clarion.

2. Individual Performance

Julia Buchman leads the team with 11.3 points per game on 44% shooting overall and 38% from three. She is helped by
Grace Centrulla with an efficient 10.8 points and
Jayde Boyd with 10.3.
Danielle Grim plays hard on both sides of the floor, as she leads the team in steals with 22 and 13 blocks on the season so far. Centrulla and
Bailey Kuhns work hard to clean the glass as they average 5.8 and 4.5 rebounds per contest while Centrulla also has ten rejections.
Lexi Wagner has knocked down 26 three-pointers so far this season, on a spectacular 46% clip.

3. Depth
Â
The Lakers are a well-balanced team with a lot of depth as multiple players can come off the bench and make a difference on the court. 15 players have scored this season for Mercyhurst with three of them averaging more than ten points per contest. You never know who'll have a good night and lead the charge for the Lakers. In the IUP game, five players finished the game in double digits, with
Jayde Boyd leading the charge with 19.

4. Scouting Shepherd

Shepherd hasn't won a game so far this season, as they have recorded an 0-12 mark to this point. Sydney Bolles is the only player in double digits per game, as she averages 11.1. She is followed by Meghan Shipley with 8.8 points on 47% shooting from the field. The Rams look to get their first win of the season

5. Scouting Slippery Rock

The Rock is currently right behind Mercyhurst in the PSAC Standings. They boast an 8-5 overall record, and are 3-4 in conference. Isabellah Middleton leads her team with 17.9 points per game along with eight rebounds. She is helped by Deleah Gibson with 15.3 and Kennedy Middleton, scorer of 14. Slippery Rock has lost their last three games in a row and are determined to overcome Mercyhurst in the standings.
On Wednesday, Mercyhurst University welcomes local middle school students for a day of experiential learning and college campus life exposure! Following the morning educational activities, the students dine on campus and attend the Women's Basketball game at 11:30am.
