GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Mercyhurst Women's Lacrosse Team was eliminated from the PSAC Playoff Tournament on Friday afternoon in the Semifinal round against East Stroudsburg. The Lakers will now wait for the final unveiling of the Atlantic Regional Rankings to find out if they will make the NCAA Tournament.
The Warriors began the game by scoring 6 goals in the game's first 15 minutes of action. They added three more in the second period to take a 9-0 advantage with them into the halftime break. The Lakers did manage to force 10 East Stroudsburg turnovers, and put three shots on net in the first half, but could not capitalize.
The Lakers got their first tally on the board at the 4:07 mark of the third quarter when
Sarah Kaska made the score 11-1.
Meghan Nasman scored the other Lakers goal three minutes into the fourth quarter to put the score at 12-2 East Stroudsburg. The Warriors would tack on another before the final buzzer sounded to put the final score at 13-2.
Kaitlyn Lippert finished the game with 11 saves in net for the Lakers. They caused 11 Warriors turnovers including two each from
Kiana Francis and
Mackenzie Murphy.
Rachel Hirst led the Lakers with four ground balls.
