Men’s Tennis Earns Two Singles Wins Against No. 5 Barry

Orlando, Fl.—The Mercyhurst Men's Tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 5 Barry University Tuesday afternoon at the National Tennis Center.

How it Happened

Barry earned the first point after sweeping all three doubles spots. In singles play, Noha DeSousa Pereira was forced to retire from his match at fourth singles, awarding Barry their second point.

After the Buccaneers secured their team win with successes at the top three singles spots, the Lakers scratched out a pair of wins in the bottom two singles spots.

At fifth singles, Hristo Plasheski won his first set 6-2 but dropped the second with an inverse score. Both players fought hard in the third set, but Plasheski walked away with an 11-9 win to take the point.

At sixth singles, Morris Haab won his first two sets handily, 6-1 and 6-2, to take the final point.

Up Next

A meeting with Ferris State in Winter Park, Florida, on Friday awaits the Lakers as they continue their spring trip.
