Erie, Pa – The Mercyhurst Women's Lacrosse team dropped a PSAC West contest to No. 22 Seton Hill on Tuesday afternoon by a 13-3 score.
Seton Hill jumped out to an early lead, scoring the game's first seven tallies including a first period hat trick from graduate student Jaclyn Frank. Julia Ruscio scored the first Lakers goal of the game at the 4:59 mark in the second quarter to cut the Seton Hill lead down to six, however the Griffins responded less than a minute later with another score from Frank. Both teams added an additional score within the final two minutes of the half, for the Lakers it was Meghan Nasman scoring her third goal of the season as the Griffins took a 9-2 lead into the halftime break.
In the second half, scoring was scarce as only one goal was scored in the third quarter. That goal was scored by Seton Hill's Alaina TeSelle to put the Griffins up 10-2. The Griffins would go on to score three more times in the final quarter of play with the Lakers earning the final goal of the game courtesy of
Victoria Gottorff.
The Lakers will return to action this Saturday on the road at Lock Haven University.
