Altoona, Pa.—The Mercyhurst Men's Tennis dropped their outing at Saint Francis Tuesday afternoon despite earning a pair of singles wins.
How it Happened
The Red Flash swept all three doubles matches, but David Akinpetide and Milan Jankovic put up a fight at the top singles spot before falling 7-6.
Akinpetide then got his revenge in singles play, earning a 6-4, 6-3 win at first singles against Sebastian Pinos. The only other Lakers win came at fourth singles, where Noha DeSousa Pereira earned a commanding 6-3, 6-3 win over Andrew Teixeira.
Ben Davis forced a third set at second singles but could not secure the point as he fell 1-6, 7-5, 4-6. Hristo Plasheski suffered a similar fate at fifth singles, rallying for a second-set win to force a third but ultimately falling 4-6, 6-2, 5-7.
