Slippery Rock, Pa. – Second-ranked Mercyhurst Men's Soccer finishes the regular season without a loss, as they defeat Slippery Rock by a score of 4-0, and move on to 17-0-1 on the season. The Lakers go undefeated for the first time in program history and record a perfect conference season going 10-0 and clinching the first spot in PSAC West.
 
How It Happened
The Lakers entered the Saturday game against the Rock determined to win and build momentum for upcoming playoffs. The beginning of the match saw a lot of back-and-forth action, but as the game went on the Lakers kept creating scoring situations. They needed 24 minutes to get into the lead, as Nic Münch put the ball in the net for his first goal of the game and eighth of the season. The Lakers struck again right before the break, as Münch passed the ball to Julius Becker, and he beat Slippery Rock's goalkeeper with a nice shot.
 
The second half was very similar, as the Lakers kept dominating on both sides of the field. Slippery Rock couldn't get the ball near the Mercyhurst goal, as the on-ball pressure was too much for them to handle. Dylan Sumner extended the lead in 48^th minute of the match, and it was his ninth goal of the season.
 
The Lakers were not done yet, as they kept applying pressure on the Rock's defense. Martin Grzywa scored the final goal of the match in 82^nd minute of the game. He received the ball from Sumner and put the Lakers in 4-0 lead.

Mercyhurst is scheduled to play in PSAC semifinals on Friday, November 4^th.
