LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Mercyhurst linebacker Bradley Burrows was selected as the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week for Week 1 after his performance against Alderson Broaddus Saturday night. 

Burrows led the Lakers with 10 tackles, five solo, to go with four sacks.  

Burrows was also responsible for the first points of the night for the Lakers when his pressure forced Jaylen McNair into an intentional grounding penalty in the endzone for a safety. 

The Mercyhurst defense held the Battlers to just 86 total yards and six total first downs. The Battlers were also 0-for-9 on third down and 0-for-1 on fourth. 

The Lakers return to action on Saturday when they host West Chester at noon at Saxon Stadium.
