Box Score 2 WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday on the first day of Ram Fest hosted by West Chester University.
The Lakers dropped the opener to Jefferson 3-1 and then fell 3-1 to Millersville in match two.
Against Millersville, Mercyhurst took the opening set 25-19.The Marauders took a hard-fought second set 26-24 before closing out the match with set wins of 25-12 and 25-17.
Beth Brady paced the Laker attack with 11 kills.
Madison Kasper chipped in nine kills while
Kylie Schnars put down seven kills to go with three blocks.
Alexa Mitchell triggered the attack with 22 assists. Isa McCaffrey added 13 helpers.
Hannah Vuylsteke keyed the defensive effort with 14 digs while
Adeline Benjamin notched three blocks.
Stats were not immediately available for the Jefferson match.
The Lakers are back in action on Saturday when they take on Goldey-Beacom at noon. They will round out the weekend with a 2 p.m. match against host West Chester.
