ERIE, Pa. -- A generous donation of $15,000 from H. Jack's Plumbing and Heating has kicked off the Mercyhurst Football teams fundraising efforts to upgrade their locker room.
"With five Mercyhurst University Football alumni in leadership positions at H. Jack's Plumbing & Heating, it is a natural fit for our organization to stay involved with the Mercyhurst Football program," said H. Jack's President John Langer '94. "We are pleased to support the Mercyhurst Football locker room renovation."
With larger rosters approved by the PSAC and a renewed emphasis on player health and safety, the Lakers will look to upgrade many different elements inside their locker room.
"We are very thankful to John and all our Alums who are part of H. Jack's Plumbing & Heating," said Laker Head Coach Marty Schaetzle. "John's loyalty to Mercyhurst University and our football program has always been fantastic. He makes a big difference in the lives of our students-athletes."
In the plans there is a new HVAC system to improve ventilation. It will also include removing the wall between the locker room and current meeting room to expand the locker room capacity and provide a more open and functional space for the student-athletes.
Those interested in donating can do so by going here. Donors that give $500 will receive a plaque above a locker in their honor.
