ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst softball team will finish the 2021 regular season with four games against Slippery Rock Saturday and Sunday.
The Games
The Lakers moved the doubleheader at home with Slippery Rock to Sunday at noon. Mercyhurst will travel to Slippery Rock on Saturday with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
Postseason Implications
Mercyhurst is currently in fifth and one spot outside of the PSAC postseason picture. With three wins the Lakers can move into the fourth spot and earn their first PSAC berth since 2013.
With the Bats
Madison Fry has set the table for the Laker offense batting .430 and posting a .495 on-base percentage scoring 23 runs. Cheyenne Hindman adds a .390 average with a team-high 24 RBI.
Sarah Koscho leads the team with eight home runs and is tied for the lead with 10 doubles while posting a .333 average. Allison Dejidas adds seven homers, three double and 21 RBI.
In the Circle
Mikaela Schramski has a 6-4 record in 14 starts including three shutouts. She boasts a 4.68 ERA with 52 strikeouts. Morgan Hilty leads the Lakers with 70.1 innings pitched in 12 starts and six relief appearances. She is 2-5 overall with a pair of saves.
Scouting the Rock
Erin Gardner paces the offense with a .320 average with 20 runs scored and eight RBI. Leah Vith leads the team with two home runs and 18 RBI.
Kelsi Anderson has made 17 starts and four relief appearances with a 2.60 ERA and 90 strikeouts. Chole Sharman posts a 2.75 ERA in 25 appearances with 69 strikeouts.
