ERIE, Pa. -- The top-seeded Mercyhurst tennis team topped visiting Millersville 4-2 in the PSAC Semifinal at Frontier Park Tuesday afternoon.
The Lakers got off to a fast start as the number two doubles team of Unai Amilleta Gonzalez and Arseniy Sklyarov defeated Ting Yu Yen and Ben Fellman 6-0.
The Marauders evened the doubles series with a victory at number one. Trailing 3-0, Hristo Plasheski and Kiran Richards rallied to win the next six games to earn the 6-3 victory clinch the doubles point for the Lakers.
Millersville's Yen scored a 6-4, 6-1 win over Richards at number six and Fellman gave the Marauders a 2-1 lead with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Plasheski.
Milan Jankovic got the Lakers back in the win column with a 6-2, 7-5 win at number three singles. At number two, David Akinpetide dropped the first set 2-6, but rallied to win the next two 6-1, 6-2 giving the Lakers a 3-2 advantage.
Skylarov picked up the clinching point at number five taking the first set 6-4 and the second 7-5 to set the final score.
The Lakers will host the winner of the Edinboro-Bloomsburg semifinal. The championship match is slated for Friday at 1 p.m. at a site to be determined.
