GREENSBURG, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst softball team dropped both halves of a doubleheader to host Seton Hill Friday afternoon in PSAC West play. 

In the opener, the Lakers battled back but fell 4-3 and then in the nightcap Mercyhurst dropped a 4-0 decision. 

Mercyhurst trailed 1-0 in the opener before Allison Dejidas and Marisa Cartellone hit back-to-back home runs to give the Lakers a 2-1 advantage. The Griffins knotted the game 2-2 with an RBI single in the fifth. 

Seton Hill took advantage of a Mercyhurst error to take a 4-2 lead. The Lakers trimmed the lead to 4-3 with a Cheyenne Hindman RBI single that plated Madison Fry.  

In game two, the Lakers spread out seven hits but couldn't push across a run. The Griffins picked up all four of their runs in the fifth keyed by a three-run double by Alexis Vargas. 

Dejidas paced the Laker offense with three hits on the day. Kaitlin Hoffner took the loss in the opener while Morgan Hilty took the loss in game two. 

The Lakers and Griffins will wrap up their four-game set on Saturday when they square off at the Mercyhurst Softball Field. Game time is slated for 11 a.m.
