ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory over visiting Cal on Saturday at Fairview High School. 

The Lakers got off to a fast start sweeping the doubles matches. Athina Tsagkaraki and Alana Lewis teamed up for a 6-1 victory at number three by a score of 6-1.  

Naomi Jahr and Emily Gordon secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at top flight while Janice Theodora and Valentine Budin finished the sweep with a 6-2 win of their own. 

In singles play, Lewis scored the first win of the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win at number five singles. Budin scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at number four next. 

Theodora secured the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 at number six. Gordon scored a 6-2, 6-0 win at number three. Tsagkaraki tallied a 6-4, 6-0 win and Jahr was the last finish with 6-1, 6-2 victory at number  one singles.  

The Lakers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Slippery Rock at 12 p.m. at the Westwood Racquet Club.
