The Mercyhurst Softball team announced their 2022 schedule Monday, looking to build on their historic 2021 run as they kick off the 2022 season with a trip to Glenville, West Virginia, for a suite of games Feb. 26-27.
Mercyhurst is coming off a 2021 season in which they qualified for the PSAC Tournament for the first time in eight years, five players were named to the PSAC West All-Conference team, and Leanne Baker was named the PSAC West Head Coach of the Year.
As part of their West Virginia excursion, the Lakers will face PSAC East foes West Chester and Shepherd. They will begin PSAC West play March 19-20 with a pair of games against Seton Hill.
The Lakers will get to break in the new Mercyhurst Softball Field on the Mercyhurst campus when they welcome D'Youville on March 15. They will play their first conference game at home when they play a doubleheader against Erie County foe Edinboro on April 2.
Crosstown rivals Gannon will visit Mercyhurst April 29 for a doubleheader, with the regular season ending the next day as they host Clarion.

Cheyenne Hindman and Sarah Koscho, who joined Fry as All-PSAC West First-Teamers, return as a senior and graduate student, respectively. Koscho led the Lakers with 11 home runs last season and was named an Academic All-American by CoSIDA.
Junior Allison Dejidas and senior Chloe McQuestion, named to the All-PSAC West Second Team last season, will be back on the field for Mercyhurst as well.
