Athina Tsagkaraki served as a junior captain for the Mercyhurst women's tennis team that didn't feature a senior in the 2019-20 season.

On the court, Tsagkaraki was 6-5 on the season going 3-1 at home and posting a 2-1 mark in PSAC competition in singles. Her doubles pairings were 5-6 overall.

Tsagkaraki was an integral part of the Lakers 2018-19 PSAC Championship team that advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional.

Tsagkaraki is also a stellar student majoring in Athletic Training.

Athina as one of our captains, she has been a strong leader for us throughout the year, both on and off the court. This past weekend would have been our team championships it makes me wonder what could have been, but we are looking forward to what Athina can bring back with her next season.
