Erie, Pa.—Baseball's Troy Banks and Softball's Morgan Hilty have been selected as this week's PPG Paint's Student-Athletes of the Week.
 
The second baseman from Orchard Park, N.Y. had an outstanding week at the plate collecting 11 RBI's as the Lakers won four of their five games. His batting average increased to .290 on the season. Banks was also solid in the field as he added eight putouts and seven assists. 
 
The Mercyhurst Baseball team will take on Ashland at home in doubleheader on Wednesday and will face IUP on Friday for a pair of conference games. 
 
Hilty helped the softball team collect three more wins this week by being a solid force in the circle for the Lakers. Hilty pitched two complete games with one coming in a 10-0 win against UPJ in five innings. She struck out nine batters while only walking two. Hilty has a season ERA of 1.76.
 
The Lakers will play next in a non-conference double header against Edinboro under the lights of the Mercyhurst Softball Field on Wednesday.
