COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Mercyhurst men's hockey team fell 5-1 to host Air Force Saturday night ending their season in the opening round of the Atlantic Hockey Association Tournament.
The Falcons came out of the gates fast with Willie Reim putting them up 1-0 with his tally just 1:06 into the contest. Luke Manning would add another first period tally and send Air Force into the first intermission up 2-0.
Ty Pochipinski extended the lead in the second with a tally at the 13:40 mark.
The Lakers pushed back in the opening minutes of the third when
Dalton Hunter snapped a shot home from between the circles.
The Falcons tacked on a pair of insurance tallies over the final 3:31 to close out the game.
Gueorgui Feduolov and
Josh McDougall picked up the helpers on Hunter's goal.
Garrett Metcalf took the loss in net making 44 saves on the night.
