Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Mercyhurst softball team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 3-2 before falling 10-0 to West Virginia Wesleyan 0-0 on Monday during Day Two of the Spring Break Trip.

Mercyhurst took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when
Cheyenne Hindman homered to left field. Kentucky came back with two in the fourth to take the lead. The Lakers then scored two in the fifth to win 3-2.
Natalie Graff doubled down the left line to score Koscho before
Madison Fry singled up the middle to score Graff.
Brianne Egelston and Koscho went 2-for-3 at battle while
Allison Dejidas and
Jenna Balducci also had one hit each. Fry, Hindman and Graff picked up one RBI each.
Marissa Cartellone earned the win pitching four innings. She struck out two batters and allowed only two runs on six hits. Hindman pitched three innings with one strike out and one hit.
For Kentucky, Mullen and Scott had runs while Hardley, Tidwell, Powell and Polivick had hits. Powell and Polivick picked up one RBI a piece. Woodall got the loss pitching five innings with six strike outs and three errors. Hendricks also pitched with one strike out and one hit.
West Virginia Wesleyan 10, Mercyhurst 0
West Virginia Wesleyan scored one in the first inning, three in the second, one in the fifth and added five more runs in the sixth to win 10-0.
Fry went 3-for-3 at bat while Hoffner went 2-for-3 and Koscho had one hit.
Hoffner got the loss on the mound, pitching two innings. She struck out two batters and allowed four runs on eight hits. Cartellone pitched three innings allowing six runs on seven hits.
For West Virginia Wesleyan, Robinson scored two runs while single runs were earned by Cowart, Smoot, Smith, Bragg, Posey, King, Kennedy and Bourne. Kennedy homered with bases loaded to earn four RBI on the day.
O'Shields earned the win, pitching six innings. She struck out ten batters and walked two while allowing six hits.
The Lakers continue their Spring Break trip Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. against Holy Family and 12:15 p.m. University of Mary.
