LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- In light of the latest news regarding COVID-19, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced that all athletic competition for the remainder of the season is suspended effective immediately.
In addition, all countable related athletic activities (CARA) are suspended until March 30 at which time the Board of Directors will review a proposal from the Athletics Administrators to permit or suspend CARA for the remainder of the semester.
"We support the decision made by the PSAC Board of Directors' knowing that it was made to protect the well-being of our student-athletes and campus communities," said Director of Athletics Brad Davis. "We are devastated for our student-athletes, especially our seniors, spring sports programs and three teams still competing for NCAA Championships, that saw their seasons or careers abruptly end. Mercyhurst and the athletic department will continue to provide services and do all we can to assist student-athletes in navigating these unprecedented events."
Mercyhurst will adhere to the suspension for all spring sports even those not competing in the PSAC.
