Mercyhurst Football Inks 2020 Class on National Signing Day

ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst Football team announced their 2020 National Signing Day class Wednesday afternoon.

The Lakers brought in a mix of offensive and defensive players with an emphasis on skill players. 
  Rylan Davis: Took snaps at a variety positions on both sides of the ball for Conneaut High School in Ohio. Offensively, Davis rushed for 976 yards on 67 carries with 16 touchdowns and threw for 855 yards and 11 touchdowns. On defense, Davis recorded 80 tackles, two interceptions, 18 tackles for loss including two sacks. Second-team All-Ohio Division V selection as an all-purpose player. First-team all-conference as both a quarterback and linebacker. Zach Hill: Linebacker at Olentangy Orange High School earning District and Conference Defensive Player of the Year Honors. Hill a first-team All-Ohio Selection. Holds both the season and career tackles leader at Olentangy Orange. Russell Pytlak: Two-time All-Conference selection as a tight end at Yough High School. Two-time Mon Valley Independent Finest 25. Also earned All-Western PA Class 3A defensive end.
Dominic McGhee: Three-year letter winner at Solon High School. Team captain and honor roll student.  Rashaan Carlton: 247 Sports Three Star quarterback. Three-year starter at Susquehanna Township. Led his team to the district playoffs in his junior and senior seasons. Ranked 49th best dual threat quarterback in the country.
Donovan Wertz: Started one season at Susquehanna Township. Recorded 37 tackles, five interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries. Noah Richardson: Played both tight end and outside linebacker at Conneaut Area High School in Pa. First-team all district tight end who finished with 48 catches for 618 yards and 4 touchdowns. Also had 35 carries for 121 yards and five scores. Defensively finished with 80 tackles, two forces fumbles, two interceptions and two sacks. Alex Lippert: Team captain at Frontier High School. Holds the school record with a 67 yard punt. Honorable Mention Western New York Cream of the Crop Team. First-team all-division player.
Austin Kim: Tossed for 1400 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 400 yards and five scores. Patriot Athletic Conference Honorable Mention. All-District Honorable Mention. Ryan Welch: League All-Star at Canandaigua Academy High School. Played in the Eddie Meath All-Star Game. All-State Honorable Mention. Dylan Schley: Three-time All-District at Mercyhurst Prep. First-team All-State selection the last three seasons. All-Western Pennsylvania selection four times. Christian Taylor: Three-sport athlete at St. Anthony's in Long Island, N.Y. All-League linebacker. Also and All-State wrestler and Tri-State Metro All-Star in rugby. 
Dillon Ferretti: Three-time All-Conference linebacker at Hempfield High School. Selected to the Westmoreland County All-Star Team. Two-time football captain. Mike Pappas: Three-time First-Team all CLC at Valley Forge High School. 2019 GLC Offensive Player of the Year. Rushed for 3,880 career yards and 38 touchdowns. Max Malis: Two-time All-Conference First-Team selection at defensive end at Derry Area. Also an All-Conference offensive tackle. First-team All-Westmoreland County All-Star. First Team Tribune Review All-Star.
CJ Ozolins: Linebacker from Canisius High School. Earned Player fo the Year honors from both the Buffalo News and Western New York Weekly. First-team All-Catholic league as well as First-Team All-Western New York and All-State. Western New York Player of the Year. Holds the Canisius High School record for tackles in a game with 24.   Sean Banas: Two-time First-Team All-Conference player out of Chartiers Valley. Lead his team in tackles the last three seasons. Griffin Beattie: All-Section Punter and Running Back at Chartiers Valley. Two-Time Academic All-Conferecne. Dylan Hupp: Two-time MAC Top 22 Offensive Lineman. MAC Top 22 Defensive Lineman junior season MAC First-Team as a senior. Joe Impavido: Earned first-team honors as a senior. Recorded 82 catches for 1,012 yards and 12 touchdowns.  Darin Mizgorski: Four-time letter-winner at Shaler High School. Two-time second-team all-conference selection. Trevon Tate: Member of the Erie High School District 10 Championship team. All-Region 8 honoree. Cameron Barmore: Three-time All-Leagure selection at Panama Canal High School. Named an All-State wide receiver twice. 2019 Western New York Small School Offensive Player of the Year. Football weekly First-Team All-Star.  Austin Cortopassi: Three-year letter winner at Bethel Park High School. Two-time second-team All-Conference selection.
