Box Score ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision Thursday afternoon to visiting Walsh at the Westwood Racquet Club.

The Cavaliers opened the match by sweeping the doubles competition to take a 1-0 lead.

Nada Ostojic scored a win for the Lakers at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-2, but Walsh wins at No. 1 and No. 3 gave the Cavaliers a 3-1 advantage. Ulyana Trifonova trimmed the lead to 3-2 with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 6 singles.

Nicole Beidacki of Walsh gave the Cavaliers the match at No. 5, but Athina Tsagkaraki closed out the match at No. 4 singles with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) win over Maria Kacalova.

The Lakers are back in action next week when they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. for their annual spring break trip.
