The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team and head coach
Michael Sisti have announced the addition of
Jenna Silvonen for the 2019-20 season.
Silvonen, a native of Lohja, Finland will be coming in as a freshman goaltender.
Last season she won her first Finnish Championship. She also appeared in her first Women's Worlds with team Finland winning a silver medal this year. She has been in two U-18 Worlds and was the starting goalie in 2017.
Silvonen will be studying Business.
"We are excited to welcome Jenna to our Mercyhurst family. Jenna is a wonderful student-athlete who will add tremendous depth to what we believe is a talented group of goalies. We are extremely excited for the start of our 2019-20 season. Our team will have a nice mix of experience, leadership, and talent at all positions. There is a great sense of enthusiasm and chemistry throughout our team, athletic department, and campus as we prepare for this year," said Sisti.
