#25 Women's Lacrosse Knocks Off Lock Haven

ERIE, Pa. -- The 25th-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team defeated Lock Haven, 15-8, in PSAC action on Saturday at Tullio Field.

Key Numbers
  • A trio of Lakers combined for 13 of the team's 15 goals as Emma Hubert led the way with six goals.
  • Marissa Comerate and Julia Rescott added four and three goals, respectively.
  • Lacey Netti finished with a five-point game, totaling one goal and four assists.
  • Molly Meegan scored one goal.
  • Kira Kolb had a solid all-around day securing possession for the Lakers. She totaled seven draw controls, seven groundballs and four caused turnovers.
  • Angelina Simon controlled five draws.
  • Diana Schmitt picked up five groundballs.
  • Winning goalie Kaitlyn Lippert made five saves.
  • For LHU (3-8, 1-5), Kate Hooper scored three goals while leading point-getter Cailtin Morrow totaled two goals and three assists. Goalie Lauren Girardi made 16 saves.

  • The Lakers took an early 3-1 lead. Netti played a part in each of the Lakers' goals with one goal and two assists in that stretch. Hubert scored twice during the run.
  • A three-goal streak by Mercyhurst helped the hosts to a 6-2 edge. Hubert scored twice during that run, as well.
  • Comerate put in Mercyhurst's final two goals of the first half to take a 8-4 lead into intermission.
  • The squads traded goals early in the second half, leading to a 10-6 Mercyhurst lead. The Lakers then went on a 4-0 stretch to put the game out of reach. Rescott scored twice during the run.
