CLERMONT, Fla. – The Mercyhurst Softball team fell 11-0 to Findlay on Sunday in five innings.
Findlay scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second to take an early 7-0 lead. The Oilers then added four more runs in the fourth to win 11-0.
Taylor Fry went 2-for-3 while
Emma LeGendre went 2-for-2 for Mercyhurst.
Alyssa Coons,
Jenna Balducci and
Paige Crittela also added hits for the Lakers.
Laura Gregory was the losing pitcher for Mercyhurst.
Tori Pierucci also pitched two innings for Mercyhurst (1-9).
Salwa Al-Hajbe lead the way for Findlay going 2-for-3 at bat. She also had two runs and three RBI.
Emily Barr and Dylan Wiley had two runs each while Allison Brunner, Evyn Kachenmeister, Rebecca Harvey, Sadie Gearhart and Madelyn Turner had single runs.
Hailey Bryan was the winning pitcher, going the distance for Findlay (4-6).
The Lakers continue their Spring Break trip March 4 at 11:15 a.m. against Ashland.
