ERIE, Pa. -- The 24th-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team lost an 11-7 contest to non-conference opponent Roberts Wesleyan on Tuesday.
Payton Cook was the Lakers' leading point-getter with two goals and one assist.
Emma Hubert added two goals while
Angelina Simon,
Julia Rescott and
Marissa Comerate tacked on single goals for MU (4-4).
Lacey Netti and
Jenna Hagen made assists.
Simon and
Kira Kolb controlled four draws apiece. Kolb also had six groundballs and three caused turnovers.
In goal,
Kaitlyn Lippert stopped seven shots in a relief effort.
RWC (10-2) was led by Jessica Giancursio, who totaled three goals and one assist. Goalie Victoria Greco logged 16 saves.
The host Redhawks took a 9-3 lead into the second half and twice led by seven in the contest before the Lakers closed the game on a 4-1 run.
Mercyhurst will return to competition on Saturday with a PSAC matchup at fourth-ranked West Chester.
