#24 Women's Lax Drops Contest At #4 West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- The 24th-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team suffered an 18-11 loss to fourth-ranked West Chester during a PSAC contest on Saturday.

Key Numbers
  • Four-point games were recorded by Julia Rescott, Emma Hubert and Lacey Netti. Rescott had four goals while Hubert totaled three goals and one assists. Netti compiled one goal and three assists.
  • Kira Kolb had a strong all-around game, finishing with one goal, six draw controls, five groundballs and two caused turnovers.
  • Molly Meegan and Payton Cook added single goals. Meegan also had four draw controls.
  • Brenna Fosco made two assists.
  • Goalie Kaitlyn Lippert had seven saves and four groundballs in her first collegiate start.
  • Ryan McKinney led WCU (7-2, 4-1) with four goalies while goalie Julianne Clemens had six saves.

  • The Lakers (4-5, 1-3) jumped ahead with a 2-0 lead, getting goals from Cook and Hubert.
  • West Chester answered with three straight goals before Kolb evened the scored at 3-3 for Mercyhurst.
  • A 6-1 run by the Golden Rams gave the hosts the lead for good as they took a 10-5 edge into intermission. WCU then pushed the lead to 13-5 during the second half.
  • Trailing 18-8, Mercyhurst finished the game on a 3-0 run with goals by Netti, Hubert and Rescott.
