#21 Women's Lacrosse Drops Contest At Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The 21st-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-11 contest to Shippensburg in PSAC action on Saturday.

Emma Hubert led Laker scorers with four goals while Brenna Fosco tallied two goals and two assists. Angelina Simon added two goals and one assist and Lacey Netti had one goal and two assists.

Also, Julia Rescott and Payton Cook scored goals.

Kira Kolb finished with seven draw controls and seven groundballs. Diana Schmitt added four caused turnovers and three GBs while goalie Raelyn Tiberio finished with six saves.

Alana Cardaci led Shippensburg (4-3, 2-1) with six goals while goaltender Shaely Gamble made 10 saves.

Fosco led an early 6-1 run by the Lakers with two goals and one assist during the stretch before Ship answered with a five-goal run of its own, including three scores from Cardaci.

Eventually, MU pushed back into a 9-7 edge and, later, a 10-9 lead in the second half before used a four-goal run to take the lead for good.

The Lakers will return to action on Tuesday when it visits non-conference opponent Roberts Wesleyan.
