Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, W. Va. - The Mercyhurst Softball team fell 6-1 and 10-2 to the University of Charleston during its double header on Sunday.
Charleston 6, Mercyhurst 1 (7 inn.)
Charleston took an early 4-0 lead in the second inning, before adding two more runs in the fifth inning. Mercyhurst scored its lone run in the sixth inning.
Taylor Fry had the lone run for the Lakers.
Sarah Koscho had the team's only RBI.

Alyssa Coons and Fry had one hit for the Lakers each.
Tori Pierucci played four innings while
Laura Gregory played a little over one inning.
Karli Pinkerton, Brionna Bowman, Haleigh Christoph, Gracie Donato, Amber Null and Kendal Marshall had runs for Charleston. Marshall led the team with two RBI.
Carly Turner went the distance for Charleston, pitching all seven innings.
Charleston 10, Mercyhurst 2 (5 inn.)
Charleston scored six runs in the first two innings to get off to an early 6-0 lead. Mercyhurst (1-7) picked up one run in the third, but the Golden Eagles scored four more runs in the third inning. Mercyhurst tallied one last run in the fifth inning.
Ellie Dougher went 2-for-2 and scored the Lakers only runs. Ellie Legendre and
Jenna Balducci also had hits for Mercyhurst. Legendre had the lone RBI.
Gregory struck out two batters in three innings.
A Martin and Bowman scored two runs while single runs were earned by Destinee Miles, Pinkerton, Christoph, Turner, Marshall and Null. Christoph and Marshall led Charleston (3-2) with two RBI.
Carlee Lucas went the distance for Charleston as the winning pitcher.
