In the second inning, Matthew Schneider hit a solo homerun for the Lakers giving them an early 1-0 over the Timberwolves. Northwood would respond with two runs of their own in the third before Mercyhurst (0-1) poured on the runs in the fourth starting with a Josh Surowiec double scoring Domenic DeRenzo.  The Lakers would cross the plate five more times in the inning going up 7-2 in the fourth.
