• The Mercyhurst women's basketball team fell on the road 90-63 on Wednesday night. Lauren Lapertosa led the Lakers with 11 points. Nicolete Newman, Jenna Kunst, Rachel Chessar and Eliza Oswalt all had nine points for Mercyhurst.Oswalt led the team with seven rebounds.
• In the second quarter, it wouldn't be until the 6:22 mark where Hinderliter would score the first points of the quarter hitting a three putting SRU up 24-15. After an Oswalt bucket and one, SRU would strike with another 10-0 run going up 34-18. Slippery Rock would carry the lead into the half 42-24. Slippery Rock's First half field goal percentage was 53.13 (17-32) while MU shot 25.93 percent from the floor (7-27).
• In the third, Mercyhurst wouldn't have an answer to Slippery Rock's mini runs as they would extend its lead to as many as 28 points. MU would cut the deficit to 22 before Ciara Patterson would hit a three pointer with five seconds left in the quarter to put SRU up 64-39. In the fourth SRU would go on a long 8-2 run to put them up 84-56 with 3:19 to go in the game. The Rock would again push the lead to its largest lead of the game (29) before closing out the game 90-63.

Notes on the Lakers

• Mercyhurst  has struggled recently, losing its last five games
• MU will look to turn that around with a home record of 6-4 as they host Seton Hill
• The Lakers are on the outside looking in for playoffs as they need to get back to their winning ways to try to grab the last seed in the PSAC West division

• The Lakers are currently 11th in the PSAC in scoring averaging 67.3 points per game
• On the defensive side, MU is 15th allowing 7139 points per game
• In other categories, the Lakers are 12th in field goal percentage (.402), second in three point field goal percentage (.352), and fourth in three point field goals made per game (7.0)

Leading the Lakers

• MU has three scorers averaging over nine points a game including leading scorer Amber Renz with 11.5 per game followed by Oswalt (9.4) and Emily Shopene (9.1)
• Oswalt also leads the Lakers in rebounds averaging 4.3 per game
• Shopene leads the Lakers in assists with 4.1 per game and is fifth in the PSAC

Keys for the Griffins

• Before losing to Edinboro 88-68 (Feb. 13) the Griffins were on a three game winning streak
• Sits fourth in the PSAC West Division and sits one game ahead of UPJ looking to host a first round playoff game
• SHU has the second highest points scored in the conference averaging 78.6 points per game
• On the defensive side of things, the Griffins are second to last in the PSAC allowing 74.0 points per game
• Other categories, Seton Hill is tenth in field goal percentage (.413), fourth in three point field goal percentage (.329), second in rebounding offense  (42.6) and fourth in blocked shots (3.75)

Leading the Griffins

• Megan Marecic sits ninth in the PSAC in points scored per game with 17.9
• Marecic is also leading the team in rebounds with 7.3 and is tenth in the conference and first in three point field goal percentage (.374)
• Cheynne Trest is leading the Griffins in assists with 3.5 per game and is 12th in the conference
