ERIE, Pa. - After games against West Liberty University and the University of Charleston last weekend in the Mountain East / Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Crossover.  The Mercyhurst women's basketball team gets their home schedule underway on Saturday afternoon at 2pm when they entertain the Falcons of Notre Dame College (Ohio).

Scouting the Lakers  (0-2, 0-0 PSAC West)
Mercyhurst is coming off of back to back losses last weekend to West Liberty (92-79) and Charleston (72-57).  The Lakers are averaging 68.0 points per game while shooting 40.3% from the floor, 24% beyond the arc, and 75.7% at the charity stripe.  On the glass the team is pulling down 38 rebounds per contest and putting up three blocks per game.  One number that Mercyhurst will want to trim down is the turnovers as they are totaling 18 per game and have a -4.5 margin in that category.  Amber Renz, Nicolete Newman, and Emily Shopene are all scoring over ten points per game with Renz leading the way at 15.0.  Lauren Lapertosa is the team's leading rebounder with 7.0 per contest.  Vivian Allison, Meghan Komendarek, and Shopene are also each hauling in over five boards per game.  Defensively, Komendarek leads the team in blocks with four, while Eliza Oswalt and Lapertosa each have one.

Scouting the Falcons (2-0, 0-0 Mountain East)
Notre Dame arrives in Erie to begin a three-game road trip with wins over Winston-Salem State and Livingstone in their last two outings.  The Falcons are holding a +10.5 scoring margin averaging 77.5 points per game to go along with holding their opposition to 67.5 ppg.  They also shoot 40% from the floor, 29.3% from deep, and 74.1% on the foul line.  Through two games Seina Adachi is leading the attack with 20.5 ppg on over 32 minutes played and is shooting 54.5% from distance.  She has also chipped in 6.0 rebounds per contest.  Jada Maron is averaging double-figures as well with 12.0 ppg and has six steals on the season so far.  Jessie Stout is the leader on the glass hauling in 12.0 rpg, followed by Adachi (6.0) and Jen Oduho (5.5).  On defense Marone has six steals to lead the team, while Katie Karalic and Stout each have a block.  Head Ccach Lauren Macer is in her third year leading the Falcons.   

Series History:
This will be the first meeting between the Lakers and Falcons since 2017.  Notre Dame leads the overall series 4-2, which includes a 74-72 win in the last meeting on 11/11/17 in South Euclid, Ohio.  However, Mercyhurst has one the only two meetings in Erie.
