ERIE, Pa. -- Mercyhurst University dedicated the Saxon Stadium Press Box to Dr. P. Barry McAndrew Saturday afternoon as part of the University's homecoming festivities.  

Dr. McAndrew has been the voice of Mercyhurst athletics for over 30 years serving as the public address announcer for Laker football and basketball. He served as a member of the Mercyhurst faculty for 41 years prior to his retirement in 2014 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame that same year.  

The press box was dedicated with the assistance of Mercyhurst alumnus Marc McAndrew who made a major contribution to the Laker for Life Campaign in honor of his father. 

"We are grateful for Marc's dedicated support of Mercyhurst University and Laker Athletics," said Director of Athletics Brad Davis. "There is certainly no better name to be affixed to the press box than Barry McAndrew."
