Scouting the Lakers:
Mercyhurst comes into the game with a mark of 2-6 overall and 1-1 in PSAC play.  The Lakers went 1-1 last week defeating Indiana University of Pennsylvania 2-1 in the shootout on Wednesday, before suffering a shutout to top-ranked Millersville Friday.  In the game against the Crimson Hawks, Alexis Skibitsky netted the only regulation goal for the home team.  Then in the shootout, Clare Ahern, Hayley Skidmore, and Skibitsky all found the back of the cage for the win.  In goal, Libby Jones was outstanding turning away ten shots, including six between the two overtime sessions.  She continued her dominance going three-for-three in the shootout to preserve the victory.

Scouting the Mounties:
Mansfield makes the trip to Erie sporting a 6-2 overall record and will be playing their first PSAC conference contest.  Last week the Mounties posted a 2-0 mark with wins over Frostburg State and Lindenwood outscoring the two sides 9-1.  On the season they are outscoring the opposition 29-7.  Their offense is led by Dana Evans who has team-highs in goals (12) and points (26).  Larissa Motts and Christie Buyer have combined for nine goals, five assists, and 23 points.  Defensively, reigning PSAC Defense Player of the Week Madison Wilinsky has been responsible for helping her team not concede goals as she has four defensive saves on the year.  In the cage, Brittany Ryan has made 37 saves posting a 0.88 goal against average.  Head Coach Brittany Hansrote is her fifth season at the helm of the Mounties.

Series History:
Mercyhurst owns a 9-5 overall lead in the series, including a 4-1 mark in the friendly confines of Saxon Stadium.  Mansfield has won the last two matchups in the series, including the last meeting on October 3, 2018 in Mansfield, Pennsylvania by a 5-0 final.

Out to sea:
The Lakers will be on the road for their next game on Saturday, October 5th when they visit third-ranked East Stroudsburg University at 3:30pm.  Preview for that game will come out on Friday.
