- Amber Renz powered the Mercyhurst offense with 29 points as the Laker women's basketball team defeated Slippery Rock, 80-56, in a PSAC contest on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. With the victory, MU stretched its winning streak to five games. Nicolete Newman added 13 points to the Mercyhurst effort while Kori Sidwell grabbed eight rebounds and Emily Shopene dished 11 assists. Renz and Lauren Lapertosa had seven boards apiece.
- Four players for MU average eight or more points per game including team leader Nicolete Newman with 12.8. The other notable Lakers are, Amber Renz (11.4), Emily Shopene (10.3) and Eliza Oswalt (8.8).
