WINTHROP, Mass. – Mercyhurst women's ice hockey junior
Emma Nuutinen was named the College Hockey America Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Nuutinen recorded four goals and two assists during the Lakers weekend series against ninth-ranked Colgate. During Saturday's 1-1 tie, she assisted the game-tying goal. On Sunday Nuutinen recorded four goals and one assist, for her second hat trick of the season and to lead the Lakers to a 8-5 win.
She became the first player since current assistant coach
Kelley Steadman, in 2011-12, to record four goals in one game.
Nuutinen is tied for 16th in the nation with 0.65 goals per game and she is tied for 26th in the nation with 1.06 points per game.
Nuutinen leads the team with 11 goals and 18 points this season.
