ERIE, Pa. --
Vilma Tanskanen scored the lone Mercyhurst goal as the Laker women's ice hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie against ninth-ranked Colgate on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
Tanskanen scored in the second period, receiving assists from
Emma Nuutinen and
Molly Blasen. The goal tied the contest at 1-1 after Colgate's Jessie Eldridge connected on a shorthanded goal.
Laker goalie
Kennedy Blair totaled 35 stops while Julia VanDyk had 22 saves for the Raiders (11-5-3).
Neither team capitalized on the power play: Mercyhurst was 0-for-8 and Colgate finished 0-for-7.
