Women's Soccer Falls At #14 East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- Amata Valentini scored the lone Mercyhurst goal as the Laker women's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision to 14th-ranked East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition on Saturday.

With the Lakers trailing 3-0, Valentini got Mercyhurst on the board with the team's first goal of 2018. She had her goal in the 56th minute.

Vilde Wold made seven saves in net for MU (0-2, 0-2).

Six different goal-scorers found the net for ESU (1-0-1, 1-0-1). Megan Young was the winning goalie with two saves.

ESU outshot Mercyhurst, 18-8, and held a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.

The Lakers will play next on Wednesday when they host Clarion for a 4 p.m. PSAC contest.
