The Mercyhurst women's hockey program is excited to announce the hiring of its new assistant coach, Beth Hanrahan, who was an assistant coach at Lindenwood last year.
Hanrahan played collegiately at Providence from 2011-2015, before playing professionally with the New York Riveters of the National Women's Hockey League in 2015-16. A native of Silver Spring, Md., Hanrahan accumulated 75 points during her four-year career at Providence. She scored 45 goals as a Friar, including a team-leading 15 goals during her senior season. Hanrahan served as the team captain during the 2014-15 season, and was selected as Providence's most valuable player during her junior and senior campaigns.

"I'm very excited to be joining Mercyhurst women's ice hockey staff," Hanrahan said. "I cannot wait to get the season started and help continue to bring this program down the road of success."
Before coaching at Lindenwood, Hanrahan was an assistant coach for the U16 team at Shattuck St. Mary's.
"It is exciting to welcome Beth to our family here at Mercyhurst University," said head coach Mike Sisti. "We have been able to accomplish many wonderful achievements over the years with a terrific group of dedicated coaches and players who helped put their mark on our program. We expect Beth to continue that tradition and we are looking forward to the start of our 20th season in September."
