Angelina Simon scored six goals, including five during Mercyhurst's 10-1 first-half run, as the 22nd-ranked Laker women's lacrosse team earned a 15-7 victory over Shippensburg on Saturday at Tullio Field.
Taylor Izzo finished with a six-point game, compiling two goals and four assists, for MU (4-2, 3-0).
Kristin Anderson and
Grace Lawson also had two goals while
Cassandra Ellis and
Molly Meegan added one goal apiece.
Anderson,
Lacey Netti and
Catherine Meegan made two assists each. Lawson and
Brenna Fosco contributed single assists.
Kira Kolb led the Lakers' defensive effort. She finished with five draw controls, three groundballs and three caused turnovers. Anderson also had five draw controls to go along with two GBs and four CTs.
Catherine Meegan and
Torie Sullivan picked up three GBs each.

For visiting Ship (3-4, 0-3), Jordan Kengar had two goals and two assists while Valerie Hertz totaled eight groundballs, four caused turnovers and three draw controls.
Raider goalie KiKi Brasher recorded nine saves.
The Lakers jumped to a 10-1 lead in the first half and led the rest of the way. Shippensburg closed the deficit to six goals on two different occasions in the second half, but that was as close as it got.
Mercyhurst outshot Ship, 29-20, and held a 16-8 draw advantage. The Raiders had a 23-21 groundball edge.
The Lakers play their next game on Wednesday when they visit non-conference opponent Wheeling Jesuit for a 4 p.m. contest.
