ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team's season came to an end with a 5-4 overtime loss to Robert Morris during Friday's early Atlantic Hockey Tournament semifinal at the Blue Cross Arena.

RMU's Michael Louria scored 6:42 into the extra period to send the Colonials into the the AHA Tournament final.

Derek Barach and Joseph Duszak had a goal and an assist each for the Lakers. Kane Elliot and Taylor Best also had goals for Mercyhurst (21-12-4).

Les Lancaster had two assists while Joshua Lammon, Tyler Enns and Wes Baker each had one assist for MU..

Brady Ferguson had a hat trick for RMU (18-19-3) while Daniel Mantenuto scored one goal.

The Lakers were 45 seconds from victory when Ferguson completed his hat trick with a power-play goal. Ferguson tied the contest at 4-all, receiving assists from Luke Lynch and Louria.

That set the stage for Louria's winner as he took advantage of a fluky carom off the end-board behind Laker goalie Brandon Wildung and finished the game with a backhand. He was assisted by Alex Tonge.

The Lakers had held the game's first lead at 1-0 after Elliot scored his fourth goal of the season with 51 seconds remaining in the first period. Barach passed the puck up to Elliot, who skated it into the zone and shot it off the shoulder of Robert Morris goaltender Francis Marotte and into the net. Lancaster also assisted the goal.

Ferguson struck back for the Colonials in the second period, scoring twice. He had an unassisted power-play goal to even the game at 1-1 and then gave RMU a 2-1 lead with assistance from Louria and Sean Giles.

In the third period, the teams combined for five goals.

Best scored his 11th goal of the season to tie the game back up at 2-2. Duszak shot the puck and it was rebounded to Best who sent it home.

Robert Morris re-took the lead at 3-2 with a goal from Mantenuto while Matthew Graham and Robert Powers had assists.

That advantage was short-lived as Barach tied the game at 3-3 just 14 seconds later. A shot by Enns went wide, but the rebound off the boards found Barach, who directed the puck toward goal for his 15th goal of the season.

The rapid succession of goals continued 1:10 later as Duszak gave the Lakers a 4-3 lead. Duszak collected his own rebound and snuck it behind Marotte from behind the net for his ninth goal of the season. The goal, which was assisted by Lancaster and Baker, occurred with 6:42 remaining in regulation and ultimately became the Lakers' final score of 2017-18.
