ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst University Athletics Department is pleased to announce the addition of women's bowling as its 25th varsity sport. The program will compete in its inaugural year during the 2019-20 academic year.
Mercyhurst will become only the second PSAC school to sponsor a women's bowling program. The Lakers aim to have a coach in place later this winter.
"We are extremely excited to announce the addition of women's bowling as a varsity sport at Mercyhurst," said Director of Athletics
Bradley Davis. "Bowling is a very popular sport at the high school level locally, and we are proud to provide opportunities at the collegiate level for female bowlers. We are grateful for the support of President Michael Victor, who continues to invest and support in the vision and future of Mercyhurst Athletics."
