ERIE, Pa. -- Trystan Pratapas buried a school-record total of 10 three-pointers to lead the Mercyhurst men's basketball team to an 88-44 victory over Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.

Pratapas was 10 of 13 from beyond the arc, finishing with 30 points as the Lakers (3-0) recorded 16 threes as a team. Malik Jones and Jason Massey scored 10 points apiece.

Patrick Smith was MU's leading rebounder with nine boards. Massey had seven. Smith and Nelson Maxwell dished five assists each.

The Lakers held an 18-4 lead before Pratapas finally hit his first trey with 10:34 remaining in the first half. He had six threes by halftime.

In the second half, Pratapas hit two of his three-balls early in the period before tying and breaking the record late in the contest. The previous mark was shared by Terry Smith, who had nine (37 points total) in 81-69 win at Ashland on Feb. 16, 2008, and Jason Ioppolo, who had nine (29 points total) in a 93-91 loss at Ashland on Jan. 18, 1997.

Fope Okyuyiga led the Redhawks (2-2) with 14 points while Isaiah Lewis put in 11.

The Lakers will play their next contest on Tuesday when Lake Erie visits the MAC for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
