ERIE, Pa – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team suffered a 6-1 loss to second-ranked Wisconsin on Friday at the Mercyhurst Center Ice.

Summer-Rae Dobson scored the lone Laker goal.

Abby Roque earned a hat trick while Sophia Shaver, Annie Pankowski and Britta Curl scored one goal each for Wisconsin (3-0-0).

Wisconsin started off the scoring six minutes into the first period when Roque scored her first power play goal of the game. Mekenzie Steffen and Sam Cogan added assists.

Later in the first period, Roque scored her second power play goal of the game with an assist from Steffen.

One minute later, Shaver scored the Badgers' third goal of the game to take a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.

Pankowski recorded a goal from Emily Clark at 5:49 of the second period to extend the Badgers lead, 4-0.

Half way through the second period, while on the power play,
Samantha Fieseler fed the puck to
Emma Nuutinen who slid it over to Dobson for a wrister.

Roque tallied her hat trick goal, giving Wisconsin a 5-1 lead going into the second intermission.

With one minute and sixteen seconds remaining in the third period, Curl picked up the Badgers sixth goal to end the game 6-1.

The Lakers (0-3-0)Â went 1-for-5 on the power play while the Badgers ended 2-for-3.

Kennedy Blair stopped 29 out of 35 shots on net for Mercyhurst. Winning goaltender Kristen Campbell made 20 saves.

Both teams are back in action Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
