Women's Soccer Shuts Out California PA 2-0

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Vilde Wold was perfect in net as the Mercyhurst women's soccer team defeated Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent California (Pa.) 2-0 on Wednesday.
 
Wold earned her fifth shutout of the season with one save for Mercyhurst (6-4-1, 4-4-1 PSAC).
 
Maya Fanazini scored in the 29th minute before California scored an own goal in the 57th minute to give Mercyhurst a 2-0 win.

Naomi James had the lone assist.
 
Gianna Sinatra made four saves in net for the Vulcans (1-9-1, 0-9-1, PSAC).
 
Mercyhurst held a 13-4 shot advantage and had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Oct. 6 when they host Millersville at 4 p.m.
