Men's Soccer Wins 3-2 in Overtime

ERIE, Pa. – Henri Tophoven scored fifty-seven seconds into overtime to give the Mercyhurst men's soccer team a 3-2 win over East Stroudsburg during Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field.
 
Chris Lund recorded the other goal for Mercyhurst while winning goaltender Martin Jarc made two saves in net.
 
Brandon Levano got East Stroudsburg (9-7-0, 6-5-0 PSAC) on the board first during the seventh minute with an assist from Jordan Ellison.
 
One minute and three seconds later, Marcuse Torgersson scored to give the Warriors an early 2-0 lead. East Stroudsburg took the lead into halftime.
 
During the 53rd minute, Lund scored to bring the Lakers within one.
 
Tophoven scored his first goal of the game in the 83rd minute to tie the game at 2-2 and send it into overtime.
 
Fifty-seven seconds into overtime, Tophoven tallied his second goal of the game to give Mercyhurst a 3-2 win.
 
The Lakers outshot the Warriors 15-12 while the two teams were even in corner kicks with three.
 
With Seton Hill and West Chester tying, the Lakers are out of the playoffs and end their season with a 9-6-2, 5-4-2 PSAC record.
